Street Fighter 5 sees Zangief helping fellow wrestler Rainbow Mika in her training as a professional wrestler. Mika sees Zangief as her idol and he agrees to take her as his student. They engage in professional tag team matches together before the events of the main story of Street Fighter 5, A Shadow Falls, begins. This sees Zangief and others work together to take down M. Bison and Shadaloo once more as they prepare superweapons to achieve world domination. Together they are successful and both Bison and Shadaloo are destroyed.
