Street Fighter 6 sees Zangief physically stronger than ever and is fully dedicated to physical improvement and instructing his own students in their training. He finds himself put in an awkward position after venturing to the colosseum in Italy after seeing an ad for somebody “looking for a partner”, he believes this to be for a tag team partner for a wrestling match. There he encounters Marisa and the two fight to test his worthiness as her partner. After their match Marisa reveals that this “partner” she sought was to be a partner for life and that the two are to be wedded. Zangief is caught completely off guard by this as he has never considered such a thing. He politely declines saying he “definitely” has a wrestling match to be at and leaves in a hurry, leaving Marisa hopeful they will cross paths again.
